A veterinarian in Bridgeport, Connecticut, has been arrested after a puppy burned to death at his clinic. As reported by Connecticut News 12, 74-year-old Amr Wasfi, owner of the Black Rock Animal Hospital, was arrested on Thursday morning for multiple counts of animal cruelty.
Dr. Wasfi has faced animal cruelty allegations in the past. In May 2019, several clients of Dr. Wasfi claimed that their pets’ health deteriorated under the veterinarian’s care. After a police investigation, Wasfi was arrested and charged. However, the pandemic caused court delays and Wasfi continued to run his practice.
The most recent incident claimed the life of a pit bull puppy who suffered severe burns resulting in death after being left overnight on a heating pad at the clinic.
