A Utah woman is accused of attacking her mother, and throwing her mom’s dog to its death from a fifth story balcony in Salt Lake City. As reported by Salt Lake Tribune, the 25-year-old woman went on the deadly tirade on May 25. Responding officers found the woman’s mother sitting in a car with a bloodied nose and her dead dog.
Officers noted that the woman appeared to have been punched in the face. When questioned, the victim told the police that her dog died after being thrown from the fifth-story balcony by her daughter. The dog was lifeless when the police arrived. The woman further explained that she had tried to hide in a bedroom to escape her daughter’s fury, but the woman broke in, assaulting her and grabbing the dog.
The news agency outlined the 25-year-old woman’s charges:
torture of a companion animal, a first-degree felony; as well as assault and interfering with police, Class-B misdemeanors.
The suspect had outstanding charges from a prior incident in November. In that case, she is accused of punching her mother and strangling her sister, as well as resisting arrest. The suspect’s name was not publicly released.
