Update on puppy in Dallas who fell into puddle of tar

Spread the love

In the Dallas area of Texas, a puppy was rushed to an emergency veterinarian hospital on Saturday after she was discovered covered in either oil or tar. Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab. Reform stepped in to help the defenseless pup and have named her Eclipse.

On Wednesday’s update, the veterinarian staff and volunteers continue to work on removing the tar on her using mineral oil and several other gentle cleaners that will not irritate her delicate skin even more than it is now. Even though it is a very slow process, the tar is finally breaking down and coming off. A new set of blood tests are being done; results and her prognosis will be shared.

Eclipse continues to receive medication, antibiotics and baths which have exposed sores and lacerations. She continues to eat on her own – a sure sign that she has the will to survive.

The rescue organization is asking the public if anyone has something to recommend using to facilitate the tar removal.
