Neither JJ nor DJ had anyone interested in either rescuing or adopting them from the Harris County Animal Shelter in Houston, Texas. There had been more than 1900 shares on social media, yet no one offered them homes.
The friendly bonded dogs arrived at the shelter as strays from the 77049 zip code on Valentine’s Day.
And then came the Michigan rescue organization For the sake of being humane. The founder of the organization, Ashlynn Cluchey just couldn’t say no when asked if she could help:
“We lied. ‘Closed for intake’ actually meant … ‘Emergencies only,” Ashlynn wrote on the rescue’s social media page.

The dogs, originally thought to have been brothers, are actually father and son, but the two are very strongly bonded. Both are in rough shape and will need extensive care. The dogs will be transported to Michigan once they complete a 15-day-quarantine period.
For the sake of being humane needs help with the mounting unexpected veterinary expenses. They have more than 60 dogs at their facility and 10 to 15 cats at any given time.
