Two senior dogs looking for a hero after losing owner

Two senior dogs in Texas are in need of a hero after losing their owner. The 10-year-old dogs, Mickey and Poncho, have a laundry list of maladies. According to Dallas Dog Rescue.Rehab.Reform., for these old dogs, losing their owner may in fact be a blessing.

The rescue agency writes:

The group details the ailments that each dog is dealing with:

Poncho: 10 yo Neutered Male – 10 lbs – mixed breed
🚨Poor body condition
🆘Dental disease
🚨Pancreatitis
🆘Severe flea allergy dermatitis
🚨Osteoarthritis
🆘Intervetribal disk disease
🚨Right front valgus deformity (right radius and ulna are shortened as a result of prior distal physis trauma)
🆘Mild anemia
🆘Leukocytosis

Mickey: 10 yo Neutered Male – 15 lbs – mixed breed
🚨Poor body condition
🆘Dental disease
🚨Left cataract
🆘Heartworm + w/ secondary – 🚨mild main pulmonary artery enlargement
🆘Heart murmur – Minimal cardiomegaly on radiographs
Chronic intervertebral disc degeneration and mineralized intervertebral disc herniation
🚨🆘🚨Metal bullet foreign bodies (incidental but noted on radiographs)
🆘Severe flea allergy dermatitis
🚨Osteoarthritis
🆘Mild anemia

So while it is sad that Mickey and Poncho are homeless, the good news is that they are now in good hands. The rescue group is hoping to raise funds for their care, and secure foster homes.
