Two people in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, are facing animal cruelty charges following the discovery of a dead dog in their yard. As reported by WVUA News, animal control officers found a deceased dog in the yard where 19-year-old Timothy Moore and 25-year-old Rhonda Deese resided.

On the day the dead pit bull mix was found, it was 110-degrees outside and officers found no food, water, or shelter from the heat. The animal control officers determined that the dog’s body temperature was over 105-degrees, and a veterinarian determined that the dog had died from “extreme heat exposure.”

Moore and Deese were booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
