In Chickamauga, Georgia, five senior dogs have a tragic story to be told. It is hoped rescuers will step up and help these dogs.

Five years ago, the owner of these five dogs died. The already rundown  property where the dogs lived was then abandoned, except for the kindness of a person who for the past five years came to the home three days a week to feed and water the dogs. The bank has since decided to take over the property to renovate – the dogs were removed and are currently at the Walker County Animal Shelter.

For five years, these dogs have not been petted, not been bathed and have had no prevention of any kind. Four of the five dogs are heart worm positive.

“Now we need to do what we can to find them a safe place to land and live out their years in loving homes like they once had,” volunteers at the shelter wrote.

The dogs do not have to be adopted or go to the same rescue together. The shelter is filling up quickly, and it would be wonderful to find a place for these dogs as soon as possible. They are very stressed at the shelter, but not one of them have shown any kind of aggression.

Can you help?
