In Eatontown, New Jersey, a tiny nine-pound poodle mix was frightened – all she did was tremble after she was brought to the Monmouth County SPCA over the weekend. Che-Che’s owners both died from complications of the deadly virus.
According to the Monmouth County SPCA, CheChe was kept in isolation and then given a bath with hot soapy water. Her caretakers wore protective equipment. Calls to adopt CheChe have been pouring in, and the organization wants to honor the dog’s family by finding the perfect home.
As more people have been staying home, more pets are being fostered; it is hoped these temporary homes will turn into permanent homes. And if families are having financial troubles feeding their pets, the Monmouth County SPCA is also offering a food pantry to help.
Thanks to an anonymous donor, the Compassion Counts Matching Gift Campaign is currently DOUBLING donations. To help prepare for more animals like Che-Che, please consider making a donation here: bit.ly/2XxEzMb.
Che-Che and hundreds of other Monmouth County SPCA animals are in a soft bed, with a nutritious meal and a hopeful future, because of your support.
