Need something to smile about this morning? How about the ten-year-old boy from Ohio who has raised more than $315,000 for bulletproof vests for dogs? Meet Brady Snakovsky, who two years ago discovered that police dogs do not automatically receive vests when they are on patrol with their handlers.

According to the nonprofit organization, Brady’s K-9 Fund, the youngster wanted to make sure police dogs were protected and with his mother’s help, set up a GoFundMe page to buy the first four vests.

Two years later, more than 257 dogs have been outfitted with vests spanning 23 states, Canada and even in Afghanistan.

Here’s just one of the latest dogs to be outfitted; there are so many more, but check this out:

Give a big hello to our buddies Marcus and Oakley! They are from Tampa PD and these two are some of the nicest guys around! Oakley just received a ballistic vest from us and we can’t be more happy now knowing he’s got a bit of protection down in the sunshine state. Brady says we’ve got plenty of K9’s to help so if you’d like to make a handler’s day and give their best friend a vest, come chat with us and we’ll hook you up with a pretty awesome friend like Oakley!!
Stay safe you two!

Now that you’re smiling at this amazing youngster, prepare to smile even more. Brady has also helped to create a dog park in his hometown of Brunswick, and here’s the really awesome part of the story. The park is closed one day a week to give police dogs a space to train with their handlers. Included is a dog agility section used for training purposes.

And another happy dog:

Here is K9 Rico with handler Officer Koopman with Fishers PD, IN. Rico’s vest is extra special as he wears a special patch in memory of his brother, K9 Harlej who was senselessly taken from us way too soon in the line of duty last year by a coward. This duo is a strong, tough team with a lot of people backing them and a family at home who is eat raised special
