A stressed mother dog is currently being held at a busy animal control agency in Houston, Texas. The dog, named Phoebe, is at the BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions facility with her litter of puppies and the shelter is searching for a rescue group to take them in.
The volunteer-run Facebook page, Houston Underdogs, writes:
Phoebe and her babies could use some help getting out of the shelter. They need a rescue tag by 11/13 or could end up on the list.
Adding words about the dog’s understandable stress at the facility:
Phoebe and her babies were brought into BARC on 11/9. This poor family was found under an abandoned house where Phoebe was trying to save her pups from some other dogs. She is a typical mama dog and is protective of her pups, growling when staff approached at first, but she is starting to trust them and even wanting affection!She is probably just stressed out from all of the loud noises at the shelter, and will do much better in the quiet and safety of a foster home.
