Stray pup who lived on her own terrified and trembling at shelter

Sweet “Shye” is terrified at the DeKalb County Animal Services in Chamblee, Georgia. The four-year-old pup had been living on her own for quite awhile before being brought to the shelter.

“For her intake exam, she kept ducking her head and trying to hide in the kennel, but she did not put up a fight for her vaccines or blood draw…,” volunteers from the DeKalb County Animal Services Rescue Team posted on social media.

A volunteer spent time with Shye and tossed treats at her while trying to coax her out. Eventually, Shye was able to be leashed, but was so scared when brought outside, she was immediately brought back to her kennel.

Most of the day, Shye lies on the floor terrified and trembling. It is hoped a rescuer can help and free Shye and begin helping her. The dog weighs 64-pounds, is not spayed and is heartworm positive.
