Dying dog needs a special home

A special home is being sought for a dying dog in Fall River, Massachusetts. The young mastiff, dubbed Pacha, was found abandoned at Dave’s Beach two weeks ago and he was taken to the Forever Paws Animal Shelter where a veterinarian determined that he has congestive heart failure.

The animal welfare agency updated Facebook followers about the ailing and discarded dog:

He was just left there on the rocks to fend for himself.Fall River Animal Control came to his aid and brought him to us. He was seen at Pet Partners by Dr. Gehrke and what we have learned so far is:
He is three years old. Three.
He is anemic.
He was probably caged in a small space due to lack of mobility and his inability to walk properly, as well as the rough patches of skin.
He was kept in filth, causing the awful irritation on his ears and paws
He has a distended stomach( it is not bloat or parasites)
He has a heart arrhythmia.
He is kind.
He is sweet.
He is starting to know what being pet feels like.
He loves laying on his big soft bed.
He deserves a chance.

Now the shelter hopes to find one special home that can keep Pacha safe, loved and comfortable for what remains of his days. A list of requirements has been outlined for the “perfect” home:

He has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and we cannot cure this. We can however, make sure that whatever time he has left is spent in a loving home environment. We are now accepting permanent foster home applications for him. Before you apply please understand the following restrictions:
1- Please understand, with this condition there is a possibility that he could pass suddenly.
2- He will need to be in a home as the only dog.
3- He will need to be in a quiet home where he is not left alone for long periods of time.
4- He needs to go to an experienced dog home, and one where they can administer medications at specific time frames.
5- Because we have no history on him and with his condition, no children please.
6- Foster must own there home.
7- Must be willing to bring Pacha to follow up appointments and have the ability to transport Pacha to an emergency hospital if needed.
***Forever Paws will be covering all medical costs for him thanks to all of you amazing people. ***

Can you help?
