A woman in South Carolina is facing dog-fighting charges after authorities in Richland County found malnourished and injured dogs at her home. According to multiple sources, 35-year-old Chasity Katherine Hammonds was arrested and charged on January 31.
Hammonds’ six dogs were seized and taken to the Columbia Animal Shelter for treatment and care; the dogs were said to be suffering from injuries and scars that are consistent with dog fighting.
As reported by the State, Hammonds was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and then released on bond; her dogs were surrendered.
