A litter of adorable puppies is lucky to be alive after someone stowed them away inside of a cooler and abandoned them in a field in Texas. The horrible situation might never have been discovered if not for someone who was intrigued by the idea of picking up a discarded cooler to take home.
The incident was recounted by Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue on Tuesday morning:
The stories that come out of Texas are truly baffling. A gentlemen was headed to the landfill when he spotted a cooler in the middle of a vast field. He texted his girlfriend asking if she had any interest in it, and she said as long as it’s in good condition to bring it home. THANK GOODNESS SHE SAID YES, because as the man approached the closed cooler, he found three helpless little puppies inside.
The Virginia-based rescue group agreed to take in the puppies, who will be going to foster homes until forever homes can be found.
