Smoosh failed by the people he loved and will die without help

At the San Antonio Animal Care Services, Smoosh knows he has been betrayed by the people he loved. His eyes and sad demeanor say it all – no words needed.

“I don’t feel good and will die soon without help,” Smooch seems to be telling us.

And this boy’s plight is so very sad and dangerous. He is barely seven-years-old and his large belly is a sign of heartworm disease. Without immediate medical intervention, he doesn’t have a chance. He needs the community to come together and share his story.

The shelter staff think I am about 7 years old.
