Five animals, including four show dogs and a cat, perished in a devastating motorhome fire I-95 in Colleton County, South Carolina, on Wednesday morning. As reported by ABC News 4, the driver had pulled to the side of the road after experiencing mechanical issues, and then noticed flames coming from beneath the vehicle.
Firefighters who responded to the blaze were able to rescue eight animals, but five died when conditions deteriorated to the point that the rescuers had to retreat.
