Help is needed for a dog who was found shivering and groaning in a cold canal. On Thursday afternoon, Focus on Furever issued a plea on behalf of the dog, who is believed to have been treading water for upwards of eight hours.

The group writes:

This sweet boy was found in a canal and he appeared to have been treading in the water for over 8 hours. He was shivering and groaning. When our Animal Care officer brought him in his body temperature was below average, he was exhausted and the only responsive part the officer noticed on the canine at the time was the canines eyes moving.

The exhausted dog was provided with life-saving care by veterinary staff – he was found to be hypothermic with a low body temperature and he was in need of oxygen as well. After receiving supportive care, he became more responsive, but he is in need of rescue help.

Anyone who can lend this boy a hand should email ccacsrescues@cctexas.com

Looking for the dog found half dead in a canal. Trying to list his information on Twitter so a rescue can pull him. Tried too many times just to view the dogs available, any dog, for adoption with zero success. Used Corpus Christi as the city in their database. Thank you the article but it seems CCAS doesn’t care.
