A dog who was seized after being seen in a video showing animal abuse, is receiving care from a police agency in Georgia. The Gwinnett Sheriff’s Office Tweeted:

We’re happy to foster the dog whose abuse was recently captured on video and led to her owner’s arrest. She’s receiving lots of TLC in our Jail Dogs program. She is not available for adoption, but we have many dogs and cats who are.

The 18-month-old female Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was taken in after her owner, 30-year-old Ashten Nicole Goeckel, was caught on video swinging her into a brick wall at an apartment complex, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution. Goekel claims that she “lost her temper” in explanation for the cruel treatment of her young dog.
