Update: Rescued!
A beautiful German shepherd is terrified and heartbroken after being surrendered by her family to a busy Houston, Texas, animal shelter. The dog, named Sky, is justifiably confused after losing her home and family. Now she sits in her kennel run, shaking and trying to hid from her miserable new reality.

On Thursday, the Urgent Shelter Pets Houston Facebook page issued a plea on her behalf, writing:
SKY is absolutely heartbroken, confused and terrified. Her owners left her here on 6/22 without a second thought. She doesn’t understand what she did wrong and why they haven’t come back for her. Understandably she may have some trust issues and would need someone willing to be patient with her. An adopter or foster familiar with the breed would be ideal. Please reach out to us if you want to be a part of SKY’s solution. Help us save this poor girl.

Why dog shelters/rescues in the US keep killing dogs is beyond me. In the UK a dog in rescue/shelter or with any animal organisation is taken care of until it is either adopted or dies of old age/illness. We do not kill dogs we take care of them. I do not know how any group can even call themselves shelters etc when they kill dogs. Murderous bastards. All this dog needs is patience, care and love. Not much to ask for. How about looking after the dogs and killing the owners who abuse and abandon them? The World would be a far better place.
