An urgent plea for help has been issued for a young German shepherd who has lost both of his eyes. The two-year-old dog, named Smokey, is in dismal condition – not only is he blind, but he is heartworm positive.
The Rescue Me Tampa Facebook page writes:
Smokey is a 2 year old German Shepherd that was surrendered by his owner because of his immediate medical needs. He is completely blind due to both eyes needing to be removed. Smokey is Heartworm positive and we will complete his heartworm treatment. Shelter staff has observed him to be very friendly toward people and easy to handle.
According to the post, Smokey needs to be rescued by September 29.
Can you help Smokey?
