Jessie’s short life is about to be snuffed out at the Miami-Dade Animal Services where no dog is safe until they are out of the shelter and wrapped in someone’s warm embrace. Jessie has been at the shelter since September 23 and multiple times has been failed by the humans who claimed they cared.
“It looks like the shelter has given up on me. They are tired of seeing me come back even though I’m a good dog who was adopted and owned by not so good humans,” a volunteer at Rescue Me Miami wrote on their Facebook page hoping to share this poor girl’s plight and help her find a safe home before the end of the week.
Jessie’s background is enough to make anyone cry:
“My original owner surrendered me and my puppies. My puppies were adopted, but I wasn’t so lucky. My luck never changed even after I finally got adopted.”
And Jessie’s life seemed to go from bad to worse:
“I am dog friendly but my not so nice adopter said I was aggressive with the neighbor’s dog. They had me for one month and decided I wasn’t what they were looking for so back I went.”
Volunteers have worked with Jessie and has become a shelter favorite:
“At first she was a little unsure about other dogs but she has gotten familiar with meeting other dogs. (slow introductions are always a must) She just needs someone to keep up with training and structure. She has shown so much potential and deserves a chance; please share widely for rescue/ foster and pledges for her heartworm treatment.”
And now Jessie is on the list to be euthanized on Friday. Will this poor dog find someone to love her before her fate is sealed with a slow walk to the back of the shelter where no light will ever shine in her eyes again?
