RESCUED!
At the East Valley Los Angeles Shelter in California, Ryder is back in a cage. A dog with movie star looks, yet no one wants to help him, and so he sits and waits for the person who may never come.
Ryder’s story is heartbreaking. Back in December 2019, the six-year-old husky mix entered the shelter as a stray. His advocate gave us a peek of this boy’s bad luck. Back then his name was Cowboy.
“This is 6yr old Cowboy #A1660022 (sheepdog mix?). He came into the shelter having a possible owner who apparently wasn’t able to redeem him. Cowboy has exhibited some willingness to snap at people according to the shelter and his prior owner. Yesterday on his first time out of the kennel he was cautious and anxious but accepted my handling without any issue. Cowboy seemed to want to be friends but at a slower pace… “

In March, 2020, Ryder was returned to the shelter. His owner was moving, and obviously Ryder hadn’t been included in the plans. So back he is at the shelter, and back he is – sad eyed, depressed – missing his family and wanting to be somewhere else where he is loved.
