A severely injured dog is on the long road to recovery with the help of a Florida rescue group. The pit bull, named Elijah, was “torn to shreds” when the 100+ Abandoned Dogs of Everglades group first met him. Elijah’s injuries were so severe that he was said to be “on the brink of death” when he was found last month, reports Fox 35 News.
But things are slowly improving for the battered dog. He has been receiving round-the-clock care for his numerous wounds, and had to undergo emergency surgery just to survive. Amazingly, despite the severity of his wounds. Elijah has maintained a sweet and loving personality.
