In Dallas, Texas, a four-year-old Siberian husky found as a stray with a massive growth on her head and face has captured the hearts of thousands. Although the invasive tumor which covers her face, eyes and has invaded her mouth, has not dampened her spirits nor her capacity to love her rescuers.
When her photos first appeared on social media, animal advocates were shocked by her appearance. The shelter would have had no other option that to humanely euthanize her, but Dallas Rescue.Rehab.Reform would not hear of it – they rushed to her rescue and hoped the veterinarian specialists could save her life.
Sadly, surgery or radiation therapy were not to be options. Nevertheless Thursday tragic news was not to be Serenity’s end.
The next morning Serenity went to the groomer for a relaxing bath – she had been covered in fleas and ticks and thoroughly enjoyed the pampering. That night she curled up in her soft bed and slept like a baby in preparation for her “Celebration of Life” photo session with @rldphotography_tx in the morning.

“If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person!
I am at a loss for words with these photos they capture her light her soul. Her softness, her love, the gentle touch for attention. She is beyond perfect, she is forgiving my heart breaks we did not save her sooner!,” the rescue posted on their Facebook page.
Serenity will be spoiled rotten as time allows. When she is no longer as happy as she is now, her rescuers will rethink, but for now she is not in pain and can see objects.
