Senior sheepdog’s time is running out at San Antonio shelter

Groot was found as a stray in San Antonio, and someone likely abandoned the 12-year-old Australian sheepdog because they no longer cared if he lived or died. And as his time winds down and no one has stepped forward to help, Groot will be added to the list of dogs to be euthanized.

Most recent photos show Groot is being treated, and he does look much better than when he arrived at the shelter. Share his plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Senior dogs have an especially difficult time finding homes, but consider how loving these pooches are, how they are more likely to be house trained, calmer and most appreciative of good food, a soft bed and just knowing they are loved.
