Senior dog’s only crime was getting old and now he’s at the shelter

At the Pasadena Animal Shelter, a senior dog’s only crime was getting old. For 11-years he was someone’s best friend, but then was kicked out into the street. When his owner was called, the woman no longer wanted him.

Jordan is as gentle as a lamb, but his teeth are worn, he’s not as fast as he used to be and his reward – a kennel at the shelter.

“When I met him, he lowered his head so I could put on his leash. He walked by my side so deliberately that no leash was even necessary. His only indication that he noticed the barking dogs all around us was a wagging tail. Jordan’s focus was on me,” his advocate posted on the organization’s Facebook page.

On his first trip together outdoors at the shelter volunteer, Jordan was just as responsive and just as sweet.

“While he just recently came to the shelter as a stray, it’s clear Jordan’s owner was not taking good care of him for some time. His fur is dirty and matted in places, and his nails need to be trimmed. Other than that and the typical signs of old age, Jordan seems to be in good shape for a senior.”

Jordan is a great dog and deserves more than a short life in a shelter. Share the plight of this white German shepherd  with approved rescues, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
