Senior dog confused after family surrendered her
Spread the love

A senior dog is left confused and undoubtedly heartbroken after being abandoned by her owner at a busy animal control agency in Texas. The Labrador retriever mix, named Abbi, lost her home on February 11 and without the safety net of a “stray hold,” she became at risk of being put down at day’s end on February 12.

Shelter notes about this surrendered senior dog read:

I am a spayed female, black Labrador Retriever and Great Dane.

The shelter staff think I am about 9 years old.

I was surrendered by my owner and I am currently at San Antonio Animal Care Services. If you still believe you may be my owner please make arrangements to pick me up before 4:30 PM on 02/11/2020. Email [email protected] for more information on reclaim procedures and requirements.

I will need confirmed adoption, foster or rescue placement by 10am on 02/12/2020.

Saving Abbi

Owner surrendered dogs are most at risk of being put down when space becomes an issue at the facility. Please help Abbi beat the odds by sharing her adoption information.

    Does this mean adopted?
    Rescued?
    Euthanized?

Gorgeous dog. She deserved better than to end her life in a shelter, confused, afraid and alone…….
    Her life mattered…….
