At the Miami-Dade Animal Services, Scruffo has less than 24 hours to live. Brought into the shelter as a stray on June 2, the 111 pound American bulldog isn’t adjusting to shelter life. Multiple pleas from the shelter have been issued; Scruffo has to leave – dead or alive.
“Say goodbye to #Scruffo #A2141042! A plea was issued 24 hours after he got there 6/2 and another one today 6/5. They want him out… He has until 6/7 (Sunday) and they are closed. So he has 24 hours! Their excuse is behavior.”
And so with the flick of a pen, Scruffo’s life will be signed away, and the three-year-old blameless dog will be humanely euthanized.
“6/2 Pet shows confident aggression. Pet will be placed on trazadone since most of the pets show fear aggression. Pet may become a euthanasia candidate if behavior doesn’t improve. Pet will be blasted for rescue.”
“6/5 Pet remains aggressive with tense body language…Given until 6/7 for commitment.”
Follow Scruffo’s plight on Facebook with Rescue Me-MIAMI. Unfortunately this boy’s behavioral history is unknown. He will need an experienced person or organization to help him. Please don’t rescue him from euthanasia just to board him at a kennel – don’t set him up for failure.

Facebook has a dialogue between a potential foster and others, re: rescuing and veterinary needs……. need to see him actually leave the shelter for his freedom ride!!!
Scruffo was saved but later escaped from his foster. Saw this on Facebook. Dont know if they ever caught him. Can anyone update???? ?
