It’s almost impossible to believe that a nine-month-old puppy had been subject of such heinous cruelty in her short life. In San Antonio, Texas, Tammi has bravely handled a month of painful healing, but now is ready to find a loving home.
According to the San Antonio Humane Society, Tammi arrived at the shelter with injuries consistent with being struck by a car and while undergoing x-rays, veterinarians discovered 70 shotgun pellets throughout her young body.
Tammi underwent surgery to repair her pelvis fracture and restore her mobility. After a month’s rest, Tammi has been healing fine and is ready to start her new life. Her rehab continues with walks and stretches to strengthen her legs.
“Tammi needs a fun-loving and caring home,” SAHS Associate Veterinarian Dr. Traci Gilbert said. “Considering everything she went through, she is such a sweet girl. She is young and a bit shy, but I am sure she would love an active family once she gets her strength back.”
