The Oregon Humane Society is asking for the public’s help for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved who abandoned two Yorkshire terriers in a closed box. A $1,000 reward has been offered.

According to the rescue organization press release, the two senior dogs were discovered on August 5 in a closed box near the restrooms at Dalton Point State Recreational Site, located two miles west of Multnomah Falls. The dogs’ coats were matted and filthy; both dogs suffer from advanced dental disease.

A good Samaritan found the dogs and brought them to the Oregon Humane Society- named Tootsie and Rollo by the staff veterinarians, the two have been receiving medical care at the Holman Medical Center.

“There is no reason to let an animal suffer in this condition. There are options if you are no longer able to care for your pet or need to find them a new home,” says Sharon Harmon, OHS President and CEO. “We are hopeful that someone in our community saw something or knows who could be responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 503.802.6707 or submit information here.

  1. Sad update from the Oregon Humane Society:

Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet from the Oregon Humane Society! Neither Rollo nor Tootsie are available for adoption. Our veterinarians took amazing care of these two little dogs while they were in our care, but in the end, they had many medical issues that weren’t treatable, and they were suffering. Our veterinarians determined that humane euthanasia was the best course of action due to their poor prognosis and low quality of life.

      • Very tragic that these precious little treasures could not be saved…….

Precious little treasures, please look for MacKitty and join his wonderful snuggle buddies group and RIP amongst loving friends……..
