A ten-year-old video showing a lion who had been rescued from a circus playing in the grass for the first time, has gone viral again. The joy the lion shows as he carefully pads along in the grass, the way he rolls and his obvious pleasurable experience continues to bring tears to our eyes.

“The feeling of the lion on touching the soil for the 1st time in 13 years after being rescued from a circus,” Nanda wrote and shared the video on Twitter.

The 27-second video posted by the Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda shows the lion digging and even hugging a rock. It was the first time the lion had been out of his circus cage where he was forced to perform.

And it’s not like the Internet didn’t appreciate the lovely gesture either. The video continues to go viral, and compassionate people just couldn’t help but commenting:

“Heart wrenching,” wrote a Twitter user.

“Humans are an example why evolution is the worst thing,” wrote someone else.

“So heartbreaking….. How selfish humans are??? They deprive these marvelous animals from being in their homes,” wrote a third.

Check out the video and share it with your friends, family and social media.
