On Friday afternoon, a pair of Good Samaritans found a puppy abandoned on the side of the road in the St. Louis area. The concerned couple rushed the dog to a veterinarian where she was diagnosed with a broken femur and pelvis as well as bruising to her lungs. Because of the severe injuries and the expense involved, the veterinarian recommended humane euthanasia, however the heartbreaking story doesn’t stop here.
Stray Rescue of St. Louis was notified and immediately stepped forward to help in order to give this puppy a second chance.
“We said yes – only because of the support we get from you! Thank you for always rallying around us and helping these special babies live! You wouldn’t believe how sweet this little girl is. We named her Clairo. Her healing journey is going to be very expensive, but she should be able to make a full recovery and live a long, healthy & happy life…,” the organization posted on social media.
And now as chance would have it, one lucky little puppy will have a new life. Many thanks to the continuing work of Stray Rescue of St. Louis and many thanks to all of the volunteers who make all of this possible.
