At the BARC Animal Shelter and Adoptions in Houston, Texas, the heartbreaking photo of a stray appeared on social media this weekend. She has no name and hasn’t had it easy in life even though she is barely two-years-old.
According to Houston Underdogs, animal rescuers have activated their supporters to help; the Labrador’s stray hold is now over. She had been picked up by Animal Control on Thursday, along with two other dogs; this one seems to be in the most danger of losing her life.
A shelter volunteer tells her story:
“She has demodex but it’s not contagious. She just needs good food and medicated baths and her fur will grow in beautifully.
She’s unsocial and very scared. She needs a patient foster willing to gain her trust and love…”
This poor 36-pound pooch cowers in the corner of her kennel, and the shelter environment is not conducive to her making any progress.
What better time to have a “project dog” – save her life, show her some guidance and love and find your new best friend. Share her plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
