Poor dog has been through hell and needs urgent rescue

Meet Cole; he was found as a stray, and from his appearance there is little doubt that this boy hasn’t been through hell.

According to Fort Worth Animal Care and Control Placement Network, Cole needs an adopter or rescuer who will assume all financial responsibility for veterinary care. Foster offers must live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

“Cole 43631560 – infected and torn up mouth wounds, most likely from a dog fight. At this point he is showing dog aggression,” had been posted on the group’s Facebook page later Thursday afternoon.

A post later in the evening, after Cole had time to decompress, a volunteer offered the following observation accompanied with a photo of the dog happily engaging in a hug.

“He’s super sweet! Wants human affection. We took him out and walked him past dogs and he showed no aggression but he’s clearly been in multiple fights. He has old and new wounds all over his head and legs. Will need an experienced foster with no dogs or can keep separated. This poor baby has been thru hell!”

“… the wounds are mostly up front which indicates normally that they are the aggressor but it could mean he fights back. When we walked him past kennels he wasn’t acting aggressive. We can only assume what he’s been thru in life. We just want to make sure that whoever takes him has experience in dealing with this behavior.”

Cole is currently receiving pain medication as well as antibiotics for the infections. There may be a rescue willing to pull him to safety if a proper and qualified foster home can be secured. Share Cole’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts. Surely this boy deserves better.
