Pony injured in violent attack

Police investigate after pony injured in violent attack

A pony on a Cape Cod, Massachusetts, farm was seriously injured during a violent attack last weekend. CB Equestrian alerted Facebook fans to the criminal act which left Scottie, a seven-year-old Welsh pony, with wounds requiring emergency surgery.

The equestrian farm writes:

On the night of Saturday February 8th, some time between Saturday’s night check feeding and Sunday’s morning breakfast feeding, 4 of our horses were let out of their stalls. Our beloved Scottie was not only let loose but violently attacked with a broken pitchfork handle.

The pitchfork handle had to be removed by veterinarians who worked to save Scottie’s life.

The Harwich Police Department is conducting the investigation. Anyone with any additional information or tips is asked to contact the Harwich Police Department directly at (508) 430-7541.

Funds are being raised to help cover Scottie’s ongoing veterinary care – click here to learn more about how you can help.
