Veterinarians at the Pittsburgh Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Center are treating two dogs from Erie County suffering from third degree burns after their owners allegedly doused them with Drano. A Good Samaritan, who saw the dogs on Monday reported the disturbing situation.
According to the ANNA Shelter Animal Cruelty Division, a neighbor contacted the shelter about two severely injured dogs that were not getting any medical care. Chopper, a nine-month-old pit bull mix had burns along his back, ear and neck. Goldie, a two-year-old terrier, suffered from burns over 80 percent of her body including her head, neck and nose.
At first the owners refused to cooperate with the humane officer, however the dogs were soon released and rushed to the veterinary hospital.
“When Officer Duckett returned to the residence to further his investigation, it was revealed that the dogs had been doused with Drain-O. Charges have been filed.”
Both Chopper and Goldie have suffered tremendously and have a long road to recovery ahead.
“Goldie is a 2 year old terrier mix weighing only 10 pounds. She has suffered burns that exposed muscle and tendons on her head, face, muzzle and front legs over 80% of the area. Her skin has contracted so badly that she cannot close her lips and only her bottom eyelids can move. Chopper is a 9 month old male Pit mix who has suffered burns over the majority of his back and torso and lost his right ear to the burns.”
Please keep Goldie and Chopper in your thoughts and prayers. Some days “one day, one animal at a time” seems daunting if not impossible…it’s those days we reach out to you…our ANNA Family for the extra push we need to get through. And Goldie – as much as she has suffered from her injuries – is still the sweetest dog.

OMG: WHY??? I can’t believe that someone is this cruel!!! I don’t understand why someone would want to do this to their furbabies.
I hope Chopper and Goldie feel better and heal ASAP. I also hope that both are rehomed into loving families who will treat them as beloved family members.
As for the POS’s who harmed them, they will burn in Hell forever for their cruelty.
They better charge the worthless pieces of shit “owners” WITH A FELONY!!! MAKE THEM PAY FOR WHA THEY DID….DONT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH A SLAP ON THE WRIST!!!
