In a disturbing case of animal cruelty, and just because the dog’s owner was “fed up” with his pet, a cruel man tied a rope around his dog’s neck and dragged him along the road in Kerala, India on Friday.
According to the animal welfare organization, Daya Animal Welfare Organization, a video surfaced on social media showing the man tying his dog to the car and dragging him along the road. The person who videoed the egregious situation confronted the man named Yusuf and freed the dog. When authorities arrived, Yusuf told police he wanted to get rid of his dog because it was causing trouble with strays in the area.

“It was a horrific scene,” stated Akhil, the man who captured the video. “A rope was tied around the neck of the dog and it was brutally dragged along the road,” the India Times posted.
Yusuf yelled at the rescuer and asked him why it would be a problem if the dog died? He then released the dog on the street where it was later discovered and rushed to an emergency veterinarian. According to Daya, the dog suffered serious injuries, and the skin on its leg had peeled off, exposing the bones. Another stray dog that had tried to chase the car has also been rescued and is recuperating at the animal welfare organization.

Yusuf has since been charged with two counts of Mischief by killing or maiming animals according to India Penal Code and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960. His driver’s license has also been revoked.

I just don’t understand. If this POS didn’t want his dog, why didn’t he just take the dog to the shelter and sign him over???
Why try to kill the poor dog??? I think this POS is mean spirited and wanted to kill the dog vs. surrender him to the animal shelter.
