Wildlife officials in Wisconsin are searching for answers following the discovery of poisoned dogs and wild animals. According to multiple sources, the most recent poisoning victims were two hunting beagles found in Forest County.

The investigation began in 2019 when dead animals were discovered on public lands in northern Wisconsin. As reported by WBAY News, the initial deaths included wolves, coyotes, weasels and dogs. The counties impacted by the poisonings include Forest, Marinette and Florence.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.

Information needed

Anyone with information about these poisonings is asked to contact the Wisconsin DNR Violation hotline at 1-800-TIP-WDNR or 1-800-847-9367.
