Not even global pandemic could keep man away from his beloved donkey

In Malaga, Spain a man wouldn’t let the global Covid-19 pandemic keep him away from his beloved donkey. Ismael Fernandez spent two months quarantined, and when he was finally free to move around, he immediately headed to where his donkey lived.

The donkey, named Baldomera (Baldy) had been under the care of his family, and during quarantine Ismael and Baldomera had some video chats together. That’s nothing as compared to the reunion between the two. If you have not smiled in quite awhile because of the pandemic, the following video will inspire you and make your heart sing.

As Ismael spots Baldomera, the man’s voice started to quiver, and the tears followed- streaming down his face. The donkey can be seen walking up the hill and through the tall grasses, he could see Ismael and lets out a loud bray. Obviously there’s nothing better than a strong “heehaw” from your best friend.

“I was preparing myself the whole way to El Borge in case Baldomera did not recognize me,” Ismael said. “I’m not ashamed that you hear me crying [in the video] because it was a demonstration of unconditional love.”

The five-year-old donkey had been a gift to Ismael’s father when he retired a few years ago. It’s just that the two built up a bond, and who can blame them?
