Neglected mother dog leads rescuers to house of horrors for animals

A neglected mother dog, found roaming in Spalding County, Georgia, led rescuers to a true house of horrors for animals. According to multiple sources, the dog was seen wandering on Tri County Road and volunteers with Royal Animal Refuge responded to help.

The dog, dubbed Clover, did not want to be captured – instead, she led the volunteers to property where her 10 puppies were living, in addition to scores of other dead and neglected animals, reports Fox 2 News. The authorities were contacted and found dead ducks, chickens, rabbits and a dog. The surviving animals were badly neglected and in distress; one dog had to have a leg amputated.

The owner of the animals is identified as 27-year-old Ashley Gresham, who was arrested and is now facing six felony animal abuse charges. The surviving dogs were relinquished by Gresham and are now in the care of Royal Animal Refuge. Anyone hoping to make a donation can do so here.
