Someone shoved two neglected dogs into a crate and left them to die in a field in Columbiana County, Ohio. Fortunately, the abandoned dogs were found before they suffered a slow and agonizing death. On Friday, Jason Cooke recounted what is known:
A very evil person sentenced these two dogs to a painful death yesterday (or prior) by placing both of them in a single crate and abandoning them in a field in Columbiana County, OH…thankfully they were discovered by a man checking on his father’s property and he contacted me for assistance…I immediately picked the dogs up and took them to MedVet Mahoning Valley for an exam
The dogs, dubbed Huey and Foxy, are being treated for dehydration, exposure, severe skin infections, and flea/tick infestations, at Countryside Veterinary in Kinsman. Cooke said:
right now they are uncomfortable, dirty, smell horrible, and their spirits our broken
Though things look bleak for the abandoned dogs, their fate has changed and they are now safe, and receiving the care that they need to recover.
Anyone with information about who abandoned the dogs is asked to call the Columbiana County Humane Society at (234) 575-7177.
