Mother cat carries her sick kitten to Istanbul hospital for help

A stray mother cat needed help for her sick kitten, so into the Kanuni Sultan Suleyman Hospital in Istanbul, Turkey she went. According to Twitter user Merve Ozcan, the protective mama cat carried her kitten directly into the emergency room.

“Today, we were in the emergency room of the hospital when a cat rushed to bring her offspring in her mouth,” Merve wrote.

“I was very surprised when I saw her because she seemed to know [the hospital] better than me. It was obvious that she knew where to go.”

Medical personnel quickly came to the aid of the kitten, and while they were checking the little one out, gave the mother cat milk and food. The two were then taken to a local veterinarian for the care they needed.

Merve had been at the hospital with her father that day; he had been recovering from Covid-19. Seeing the mother cat and her kitten and the kindness of others brightened her day.

“The medical staff was also very happy to see the cat and kitten, went to them and loved and cared for them. I think it was a cat that employees already know, and there were people who saw it there before,” she added.

Many thanks to everyone for their kind hearts and care for a helpless animal. The tweet went viral, and we know why. The mother and kitten have been reported to doing fine.
