A dog was purposefully run over by a man who believed that the canine was behind a fatal attack on a woman in a rural area of Nova Scotia. According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, a teenager found the woman’s body in a ditch on Tuesday morning – it was clear that she had been attacked by something, but initially, the perpetrator was unknown.
A large dog, identified by the authorities as a pit bull “type,” was found near the woman’s body. Those on the scene stated that the dog was skittish, but was not behaving aggressively, and that it ran from the area where the woman was found.
Mark Taylor learned of the dog attack and decided to get in his vehicle to take care of the situation – he tells CTV News:
I’m glad I came across the dog and took care of it because it really bothered me to think about what else could have happened to the people that didn’t know this was going on, so I’m very thankful,”
Adding:
It was very fast. I don’t know how to describe it, it was surreal,” he said. “I didn’t concern myself with any repercussions. I took care of the dog. I don’t want to sensationalize what I did. I want people to focus on this poor girl and what happened to her and her family.
The woman’s identity has not been released. She was known to frequently walk with her dog in the area.

How does this man know the dog he ran down wasn’t the womans dog?
I don’t think that this was the “best way” to deal with the dog. IMHO this man had no right to play prosecution, judge, jury & executioner……. I would have called the authorities and let them collect the dog. (first: determination of how this poor woman was killed, second: was it a dog attack? third: was it this particular dog?)…..

Oh, how proud you are to have cruelly run over a dog, you idiotic mutant! What if it’s found out that the dog was totally innocent? What if he just happened upon the scene, or maybe even had a part in driving off the attacker? What, even, if he was HER dog and was standing by hoping someone would come along and take care of her? You had no right to murder that dog the way you did. I hope an investigation clears that poor dog of any wrong-doing and puts your sorry ass in jail.
