A Virginia man is facing felony animal cruelty charges following the discovery of 21 dead hunting dogs at his kennel. According to multiple sources, a tip led the authorities to kennels operated by Floyd McNeil Maitland, of Dinwiddie County.

The grim discovery was made on Friday at property located on Boydton Plank Road – officers found 21 deceased Walker hounds and one dog who was still alive. The lone survivor has been transported to a veterinarian for care and is expected to survive.

As reported by WHSV News, more charges may be forthcoming.
