A 41-year-old man in Altoona, Pennsylvania, found himself in trouble with the law after two witnesses observed him dragging a puppy by her leash. As reported by WTAJ News, the man facing charges is identified as Clifford Jones Jr.
Jones is accused of dragging the puppy with her leash and causing multiple injuries. The puppy was found with wounds to the pads of her paws, and on her stomach. When the officers arrived, the puppy was limping and had a bloodshot eye and a bloodied nose. The pup even had injuries in her mouth because Jones held her snout closed tightly enough that she punctured her gums with her own teeth.
An exam revealed new fractures in one of the puppy’s front legs, and old fractures in the other leg. The injured pup was taken to Blair County Humane Society for care. Her alleged abuser is facing a felony aggravated animal cruelty in addition to a misdemeanor cruelty to animals charge.
