A Michigan man is facing multiple charges for killing 18 wolves and three bald eagles. As reported by WWJ News, 56-year-old Kurt Duncan allegedly told department of natural resource officials that he killed the animals because “he could,” and because he liked killing them.
The animals that Duncan killed are all protected – the killings took place over an 18 month period of time. In addition to killing the eagles and wolves, Duncan is also accused of poaching deer, turkey, bear and bobcat.
Though Duncan allegedly admitted to the killings, he has pleaded not guilty to all of his charges. The Chippewa County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking $30,000 in state restitution – Duncan is prohibited from fishing/hunting and possession of firearms while out on bond.
