An El Paso, Texas man who was jailed for letting his dog die in the sun, has been arrested again. According to ABC 7 News, 26-year-old Jonathan Oneal was arrested this month after his five-year-old husky, Leo, died in the sun – now he has been arrested again after punching someone at a house party on Sunday.
According to the authorities, Oneal punched one person at the gathering and stole property from someone else. Prior to Oneal’s arrest for letting his dog die, he was arrested for firing a semi-automatic gun from a moving vehicle.
The repeat offender tried to deny that the deceased husky was his, but a microchip in the dog led back to him. The dog was found on an apartment balcony – the police report details the horrible situation:
“Leo was found in a state of decomposition in deplorable conditions. Recent recorded temperatures had been as high as 103 degrees. Leo had no access to food or water and the apartment balcony was covered in feces.”
The string of criminal incidents leaves Oneal with charges for the illegal discharge of a gun, aggravated animal cruelty and one count of aggravated assault and another count of aggravated robbery.
