A Florida man has been arrested and charged in conjunction with a case involving the discovery of an elderly, deceased dog whose snout was taped shut. According to multiple sources, 44-year-old William Hilyard is identified as the animal cruelty suspect.

Hilyard contacted the Cape Coral Police Department after seeing news about the discovery of his deceased, elderly dog, which has been described as a Shiba Inu. The elderly dog was found by a good Samaritan on Monday.

Hilyard was arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty after he spoke with officers. He was booked into the Lee County Jail, reports WINK News.
