A man in Irvine, California, was arrested after kicking a puppy down a flight of stairs, causing serious injuries. As reported by Fox 11 News, the accused man is identified as 22-year-old Ruiang Zhang. A witness told the authorities that Zhang kicked a female French Bulldog down stairs at an apartment complex on April 12.
The five-month-old puppy was taken to a veterinarian where she was found to have multiple broken bones in her legs; she is recuperating at the veterinary clinic “until further notice.” Zhang was arrested on animal cruelty charges and taken to the Orange County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing – anyone with additional information is asked to call Detective Larum, with the Irvine Police Department, at 949-724-7194.
