A Massachusetts man is accused of choking a senior dog to death. As reported by WCVB News, 41-year-old Ryan Fisher drew attention from the authorities by posting comments to social media about choking a senior dog to death because “sleeping pills didn’t work.”
The Southbridge Police Department and the Animal Rescue League of Boson launched an investigation when led them to 58-year-old Jacqueline Baldina. Upon questioning, the woman admitted that her 12-year-old dog, Beau, was given sedatives and killed. Baldina told investigators that she had given the dog Lorazepam because he was “older” and having medical issues. She claimed that the dog died a short time later.
Baldina also informed investigators that her roommate, Ryan Fisher, was alone with Beau when the dog died. Upon questioning, the man admitted to choking the dog after he was given the sedative – the man claimed that Baldina was aware of what was happening to the senior dog.
A necropsy on the dog’s body revealed that he died from trauma to his windpipe. Fisher and Baldina are charged with animal cruelty.
